- 1). Turn off the control lock or dispenser lock if the buttons appear unresponsive but the refrigerator works normally. Hold down the padlock icon button until the green indicator light above goes out. Try using the controls with the lock switched off. Repeat this step to reactivate the lock.
- 2). Allow 24 hours for temperature changes to take effect; the refrigerator needs at least a day to reach a new temperature after the settings have been adjusted. This delay is perfectly normal and is not indicative of a problem with the controls.
- 3). Check the power supply; a problem with the controls could be the first sign of a fault. The refrigerator is not receiving electricity if the interior light stays off when the door is opened. Make sure the power cord is fully connected to an outlet and that the fuse or breaker protecting the circuit is active.
- 4). Disconnect the refrigerator from its power supply and wait five minutes for the controls to reset. Plug the appliance back in and try using the control panel again. An electrical or computer fault might have temporarily frozen the controls; disconnecting and reconnecting the power often resolves this problem.
