- 1). Following the instructions provided with the machine, use the terrazzo grinder to remove layer of flaking concrete. Make sure to remove all of it, getting down to a solid base. Unless the flaking is severe, this should be considerably less than an eighth of an inch.
- 2). Using a contractor broom, sweep the surface as clean as possible.
- 3). Wash the area thoroughly with the bucket of water. Repeat as necessary. Sweep the surface to remove as much of the material as possible.
- 4). Vacuum the area thoroughly with the shop vac to remove all remaining traces of concrete dust.
- 5). Coat the cleaned concrete with the hardener, following the manufacturer's instructions. Note that products containing magnesium-fluorosilicate hardener and dustproofer are designed to chemically bond with porous concrete to strengthen and harden it. Apply two coats.
