- 1). Turn off the manual gas shut off valve on the side of the Amana gas furnace and turn off the breaker switch to the furnace at the breaker box.
- 2). Turn the room thermostat down to the lowest temperature setting and open the burner compartment door.
- 3). Open any doors or windows in the room for a few minutes to let any remaining gas fumes air out and set the furnace switch in the "Off" position.
- 4). Close the doors and windows when the fumes have been cleared out and place the furnace switch back in the "On" position.
- 5). Close the door on the front of the furnace and open the manual gas shut off valve.
- 6). Flip the breaker switch on for the furnace at the breaker box and adjust the thermostat to the desired setting.
- 7). Wait approximately 20 to 30 seconds for the burner to light automatically.
