Certainly, camping provides many challenges but that will out way the rewards gained in what is learned.  Mistakes are welcome so laugh and be supportive of one another.  Nevertheless, the process of learning by doing is much more effective then reading or listening about camping.  So be prepared to ask lots of questions.
