- 1). Park your car on level ground and unlatch the hood. Get out of the car while allowing it to run for a few minutes. You'll want to check your Camry's transmission fluid with the engine running, the transmission in "Park" and the engine and transmission warm.
- 2). Open and secure the hood of the car. Locate the transmission dipstick located in front of the Camry's engine.
- 3). Pull the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag. Place it back in the transmission, seat it fully, and remove it once more, this time checking for levels.
- 4). Pour fluid directly into the hole where you pulled the dipstick if the oil level was below the "FILL" line. Use a funnel. Estimate how much to pour based on your reading, but you should never need to add more than a quarter of a bottle.
- 5). Replace the dipstick and close the hood once you've determined the transmission has the right amount of fluid.
