- 1). Unscrew the frozen pipe at the back of the washing machine and the faucet connection at the wall. Drain the pipe over a sink to let any trapped water flow out.
- 2). Warm the pipe gently using a hairdryer to melt the accumulations of ice within. Keep the nozzle of the dryer a few inches from the plastic of the pipe to prevent damage.
- 3). Reattach the water pipe once the ice has been thawed to start a cycle. Insulate the pipes with foam, newspaper or self-adhesive insulating tape to prevent the pipe from refreezing.
