Everyone is talking about Twitter.
As a professional blogger and social media expert, I am fascinated at the explosion in popularity.
There are a ton of article about Twitter and how you can use it to get more traffic to your blog.
I have been using Twitter in another way.
I use Twitter to help me write my blog posts.
No, Twitter doesn't actually write them for me, but they do provide the creative spark and content ideas that I am looking for.
I own several niche blogs and some days I am stuck for ideas on what to write about.
Yesterday, I tried something that worked very well and I wanted to share it.
I logged on to Twitter and I simply asked my followers a question.
I was looking for a story idea for my career blog, so I asked my followers what their experience has been with the job scene.
This opened up a stream of information pertaining to how many people were unemployed, how difficult it was to get hired and other aspects of the job scene.
I compiled and summarized these responses and then added my own commentary and just like that I had a fresh and very relevant new blog post.
The next part of the plan was sending out a tweet of thanks to all the people who helped me and of course I included a link directly to the blog post.
I experience the highest traffic numbers to date as a result of combining those two methods.
Next time you are in a bind for an idea log onto Twitter until you are inspired.
