- 1). Open the Blazer's hood to expose the 2.8-liter engine. Support the hood with the Blazer's hood prop. Start the engine.
- 2). Remove the nut holding the air cleaner lid onto the air cleaner assembly by hand. Lift the air cleaner assembly off of the carburetor by hand.
- 3). Insert the tip of the screwdriver into the idle adjustment screw, located in the front of the carburetor. Turn the screw clockwise to raise the idle speed or counterclockwise to lower it.
- 4). Set the idle speed at approximately 1500 RPMs, which you can verify by looking at the Blazer's tachometer after making your adjustment.
- 5). Reinstall the Blazer's air cleaner assembly by hand. Close the hood.
