- 1). Unplug the power cord before servicing the Frigidaire dryer.
- 2). Insert the putty knife under the top panel in the front of the dryer. Rotate the putty knife to unhook the clips on the right and left sides. Lift the top panel up and rest it on its hinges.
- 3). Remove the screws located along the top edge of the front panel. Lift the front panel up to unhook it from the bottom of the dryer cabinet. Set the front panel aside.
- 4). Move the idler pulley toward the front of the Frigidaire dryer to loosen the drum belt. Remove the belt from the pulleys. Lift the drum and belt out of the cabinet.
- 5). Unplug the electrical connector leading into the heating element. Remove the screw holding the heating element enclosure to the dryer cabinet. Lift the heating element enclosure out of the Frigidaire dryer.
- 6). Slide the old heating element out of the heating element enclosure. Insert the new heating element where the old one was located.
- 7). Replace the heating element enclosure into the dryer. Replace the screws that hold it to the cabinet. Plug the electrical connector back into the heating element.
- 8). Replace the drum and belt into the dryer cabinet. Position the belt around the drum and pulleys.
- 9). Replace the front panel. Install the screws that hold the panel in place.

Lower the top panel onto the Frigidaire dryer cabinet. Press down on the top of the dryer to lock the top panel in place.
