- 1). Turn off the engine. Identify the drive belt that is attached to the air conditioning compressor.
- 2). Loosen the lock bolt holding the drive belt in place, using a metric wrench. Loosen the slider bolt to the left of the lock bolt.
- 3). Remove the drive belt by hand. Check your new drive belt to be sure it is the same length as the old belt.
- 4). Slip the new drive belt into position by hand. Tighten the slider bolts and check the tension. The tension is correct when a firm push deflects the drive belt approximately a 1/4 of an inch.
- 5). Tighten the lock bolt until it's just snug. Recheck the tension. If the tension is correct, tighten the lock bolt until it is firmly in place.
