- 1). Open the V6 Mustang's hood and support it on the prop rod. Remove the negative cable from the battery terminal with the battery wrench.
- 2). Shove the wheel chocks against one of the V6 Mustang's rear tires. Jack the front end up and support it on two of the three jack stands.
- 3). Climb under the V6 Mustang with the socket set and third jack stand. Set the stand directly under the starter motor and raise the head on the stand until it rests against the starter's belly. This will prevent the starter from dropping down when you unbolt it.
- 4). Remove the V6 Mustang's starter wiring with your socket set. Extract the two starter mounting bolts using your socket set.
- 5). Remove the V6 Mustang's starter motor by hand.
