- 1). Park the vehicle and engage the parking brake. Lift the front of the vehicle with a jack. Place jack stands under the frame then lower the vehicle onto them with the jack.
- 2). Lay on your back under the midsection of the vehicle toward the rear of the transmission. Locate the torsion bar adjustment bolts, which are in the middle of the torsion bar cross-member.
- 3). Loosen the two adjustment bolts the same amount with a 1/2-inch ratchet and socket turned counterclockwise. Once you've made the adjustment, lower the vehicle off of the jack stands with the jack.
