Raising Your Vibration and the Importance of Grounding

When you were born, you came into this world vibrating at a certain frequency.
You could call this your "energy signature", your own, personal vibration.
As life unfolds and experiences change you, the vibration you were born with changes too, to reflect your inner thoughts, feelings and beliefs.
Your vibration affects the words you use, the colours you wear, the music you listen to, as you are drawn to similar vibrations to the ones that you carry.
Someone who holds onto "negative" emotions has a slow vibration.
They may find it difficult to feel positive, they may actually feel heavy in their bodies.
Distorted beliefs, fear, anger, resentment, blame, guilt, jealousy, judgement, shame, addiction, conditional love, lack of self-worth, greed, separation and poor health keep people in this low vibration.
Because low vibrations are sluggish, they block the body's natural healing process, leading to poor health.
You can see that the negative feelings and emotions in the body creates a circle of negativity which can be difficult to break out of.
Sometimes the hardest thing to do when you feel like this is something that you know will make you feel better.
When you are at a high vibration, you can recognise the beauty in others, you can be non-judgemental; you resonate with joy, happiness, unconditional love, compassion and forgiveness.
You will also resonate with good health, as your body is not holding onto heaviness and the natural energy in your body easily flows to where it is needed.
Life flows with ease and grace, it's like driving the car and all the traffic lights are green.
You are aligned in thought and deed, the inside matches the outside and there is a sense of freedom about it all.
Energy healing raises your vibration.
By practicing the meditations and exercises in this book, you will over time, naturally shift the heavy, low vibrational energies in your body, and replace them with new, higher vibrational energies.
As you start to hold more light, you may feel light-headed and different.
This is where grounding comes in.
Imagine a tree - the tree is rooted in the ground, and the branches stretch up towards the light.
If the branches were to stretch and grow without the roots growing to balance them, the tree would topple over.
Just like a tree, as you grow and hold more energies, you need to also grow stronger roots to balance it out.
The more light you hold, the stronger your roots need to be.
When you are not grounded you feel like your feet are not touching the ground, you feel light-headed and sometimes you may even feel like you are outside of or disconnected from your physical body.
This feeling of separation from the body can lead to anxiety and panic attacks.
Anything that makes you feel like you are strongly in your body is grounding.
When you feel grounded you feel solid and strong in your body, you have no fear or anxiety and you feel at peace.
It is the best place to be when you are making important decisions or presenting something to a group of people.
Energy healing requires you to create a practice of grounding, the healing itself can be very grounding.
A practice of grounding for some people can be yoga, dancing, meditation or even just sitting on the ground.
For other people it is grounding for them to create artwork, to play with children or to spend time with animals and nature.
You may need to alter or change what you do to ground yourself as you begin to hold more and more light.
Don't depend on the same way of grounding every time, be creative and find new ways to ground yourself as you transform to a higher vibration.
Remember that this work takes time, be patient with yourself.
