Download Antivirus

• 1). Open up a web browser window and go to http://www.avast.com.
  
  
• 2). Click on "Products" and select "avast! Free Antivirus" from the menu.
  
  
• 3). Download the file to your desktop. Run the setup file to install avast! antivirus software.
  
  
• 4). Shut all programs and windows down once installation is complete.
  
  

Start in Safe Mode

• 1). Turn your computer on by pushing the "Power" or "ON" button.
  
  
• 2). Start tapping the "F8" key on your keyboard. Tap until a black window shows asking if you wish to start in Safe mode.
  
  
• 3). Hit the "Enter" key to load the computer in Safe mode.
  
  
• 4). Allow the computer to load in Safe mode; icons and font sizes will appear different from Normal mode.
  
  

Scanning Yahoo! Instant Mesenger

• 1). Click on "Start," and choose "All Programs."
  
  
• 2). Click on the "avast! Free Antivirus" icon to launch the program.
  
  
• 3). Click on the "Settings" icon and choose "Resident Protection."
  
  
• 4). Click on the "Instant Messenger" option and place a check mark next to "Yahoo! Instant Messenger."
  
  
• 5). Click on the "Scan" icon and run a full system scan. Remove any found viruses.
