- 1). Find a headband that comfortably fits your head. Although it is easiest to choose a headband that matches the color of the ears you will be making, you can choose any color. For cloth headbands, you can wrap the head band in colored ribbon and hot glue the ribbon in place. For plastic headbands, you can spray paint the headband your desired color and allow the paint to dry.
- 2). Draw the outline of your dog or pig ears on a piece of felt that matches the color you want. If you are choosing to make the ears mutli-colored, you can choose one color for the base and then cut out felt spots in a second or third color, then glue the spots onto the base color.
- 3). Cut out the dog or pig ears along the outline you drew in the previous step. Apply a line of hot glue along the edge of the ears. Then apply the ears on either side of the head band in the appropriate spot. For pigs and most dogs that would be at the one o'clock and the 11 o'clock position on the headband. However, dogs with droopier ears, such as a basset hound, may look better around the three o'clock and the nine o'clock position.
- 4). Leave the glue to dry before wearing your completed ears.
