- 1). Squeeze the silicone into a cup. Tap the sides of the cup to allow any air bubbles to rise to the top.
- 2). Microwave the silicone on high for 60 seconds to thin it down. Stir the silicone to evenly distribute the heat. Don't stir too quickly or you will introduce air bubbles.
- 3). Scoop a small amount of orange oil paint onto the tip of a craft stick and add it to the silicone. Mix the paint in to tint the silicone. Add more if needed, but only add a tiny amount at a time. You don't want to add so much that the silicone becomes opaque.
- 4). Twist a piece of wire around the threads of the first light bulb.
- 5). Dip the bulb into the silicone, holding it by the threads. Pull the bulb straight out, slowly at first then quickly to elongate the tip.
- 6). Bend the other end of the wire into a hook and hang the bulb from the clothesline to dry.
