- 1). Use your fingers or a wide-toothed comb to style your wet and wavy weave. Start near your hair crown and use your fingers or comb to separate your wave strands. Move your fingers through the weave slowly and remove any tangles manually or with your comb.
- 2). Brush the hair well with a soft bristle brush, section and make two plaits to prepare for washing. Wet the hair and apply a quality shampoo or shampoo and water mix. Squeeze the hair weave proceeding from the roots to the ends. Do not tilt your head upside down.
- 3). Apply the shampoo or shampoo mix again and then rinse the hair with water until all shampoo is removed. Do not scrub or overly manipulate the hair since this may create tangles.
- 4). Apply a quarter sized amount of conditioner. Squeeze the hair conditioner into the plaits. Do not apply the conditioner to your root area as this may loosen the weave. Rinse the weave well and apply a de-frizzing serum or leave-in condition to combat frizz and tangles.
- 5). Wrap wet hair in a towel; do not rub. Air dry your hair or use a dryer with a diffuser attachment.
- 6). Divide your hair into two sections before retiring for the evening. Secure the ends of each plait with a bobby pen or covered hair band. Loosen the plaits when you arise. Fluff the weave with your fingers. You may use a satin cap or hair covering to protect your style.
- 7). Plait your wet and wavy hair or place it in a ponytail when you exercise. Remove any perspiration from your weave afterwards by plaiting hair and rinsing or lightly shampooing.
- 8). Return to your stylist to have your weave removed and re-tightened or reattached every three to six weeks. Have your natural hair washed, conditioned and dried prior to reattachment.
