- 1). Examine if the Estate dryer is connected to a working power supply if the dryer is not working. Reset the circuit breaker or fuse, noting that most dryers use two circuit breakers or fuses and at least one may need replacement if the dryer is not operating properly.
- 2). Open and close the Estate dryer firmly. The door should make a clicking sound when closed properly. Turn the cycle control dial to a dry cycle and pull out to start the washer. The dryer cannot be set to "Wrinkle Guard" when starting the cycle, as the dryer will not operate at this setting.
- 3). Ensure the gas valve on the dryer is open (turned counterclockwise) if the model is a gas unit and has no heat. If an electric model has no heat, select a cycle other than "Air Dry" or "Fluff." Clean the lint screen and ensure objects are not blocking the vents inside the dryer if the heat is still low.
- 4). Examine the edges of the dryer for loose objects like coins, pens or keys if the dryer is making an unusual noise. Clear pockets prior to placing items inside the dryer.
- 5). Redistribute pieces inside the dryer and reduce the load size if the dryer is vibrating or thumping. Items can get twisted together and create excessive vibration.
- 6). Choose a cycle other than "Automatic Drying" if the timer knob is not moving as expected.
