- 1). Insert the USB cable into the bottom of your iPhone, and insert the other end of the cable into your computer's USB port.
- 2). Click "Start," "All Programs," "Apple" and "iTunes" to run iTunes on a PC. For Macintosh computers, open the "Applications" folder in Finder and double-click the "iTunes" icon.
- 3). Click the "iPhone" tab located in the iTunes sidebar under the "Devices" section, and click the "Summary" tab.
- 4). Click the "Restore" button, and click "Back Up" on the dialog box.
- 5). Click "Restore" on the dialog box to confirm the action, and wait for the phone to restore itself to its original settings. Click the box next to "Restore from the backup of" once your iPhone has been restored and the setup window opens.
- 6). Select the date of the backup you wish to restore from the drop-down menu, and click the "Continue" button.
