Warren Buffet"s 5 Fitness Secrets

Warren Buffet is the foremost authority on investing in the world.
He's even friends with Lebron James, whom personally calls him for any investing advice at all.
That being said most people know very little about Mr.
Buffet.
I was actually surprised to read a recent article about him that states that he still lives in the same small, 3 bed room house that he bought 50 years ago and spends most of his day playing online bridge.
Not what I'd think for a multi billionaire but hey, whatever floats your boat right? This article gave Warren's 7 secrets for living a happy life but there's also hidden fitness and nutrition messages in 5 of those secrets as well.
Secret #1: Live a simple life.
"I just naturally want to do things that make sense.
In my personal life too, I don't care what other rich people are doing.
I don't want a 405 foot boat just because someone else has a 400 foot boat.
" -- Warren Buffett Stop looking for fancy new programs or new methods, they don't work.
My bookshelf (maybe I'll show you with a video, any interest?) has bodybuilding and strength books dating back to the 1930's that I bought on eBay and craigslist and other auction sites.
Needless to say, I have a lot of books and the early ones were all written before the era of steroids and high performance nutrition so if a trick exists that isn't in those books then I don't know it.
These tricks are not out there and no one is going to magically discover one.
Train hard with consistent intensity and you'll get results.
Secret #2: Think Simply.
"I want to be able to explain my mistakes.
This means I do only the things I completely understand.
" -- Warren Buffett Do you remember when you were in the best shape of your life? What did you do and how did you get there? You should be able to tell me every detail of your training and nutrition.
If you can't then you are thinking too hard about "new" things.
Secret #3: Invest Simply.
"The best way to own common stocks is through an index fund.
" -- Warren Buffett The simple path is often the best path.
If you want to build muscle you should be using 6-12 reps, full body routines and some isolation exercises.
If you want to lose fat you should use 8-12 reps, full body routines, short rest and a little cardio on top.
Secret #4: Have a mentor in life.
"I was lucky to have the right heroes.
Tell me who your heroes are and I'll tell you how you'll turn out to be.
The qualities of the one you admire are the traits that you, with a little practice, can make your own, and that, if practiced, will become habit-forming.
" -- Warren Buffett Having a mentor is the most important thing you can do for yourself.
Having success in training and nutrition isn't hard.
Find someone who has done it before with success over and over again and pay him or her for his or her time or buy his or her information.
There's a reason successful people achieve a lot.
Heck, it might be the person in the gym who looks the way you want to look.
Ask to train with them or just watch them train from a distance.
Secret #5: Making money isn't the backbone of your guiding purpose; making money is the by-product of your guiding purpose.
"If you're doing something you love, you're more likely to put your all into it, and that generally equates to making money.
" -- Warren Buffett Getting to 8% bodyfat is a great goal but it's not your guiding purpose.
I want to gain 20 pounds of lean muscle by this time next year but it's not my guiding purpose.
Those are both goals and goals are essential when you're training hard and eating right but don't make it your purpose because if you do you'll become frustrated.
After 4 weeks of dieting, you'll want to be ripped and if you're not you'll be upset and either train more or do something drastic that might screw you up.
