Coffee Time: How To Brew The Perfect Cup

If you understand just how important and elusive it is to find the "perfect" cup of coffee, you're a coffee connoisseur. An ordinary canned, ground coffee or a drip coffee maker will not satisfy you. You desire the best coffee brewed in top-of-the-line equipment. The following tips will help you achieve the perfect brew. It might just be simpler than you thought!

1. Choose a gourmet coffee maker over a standard drip machine. The latter produces a lower quality brew. Make sure to include these features in your search for the ideal coffee maker: an insulated carafe, thermal technology, and steeping time protection. Alternatively, a good choice would be the variety that brews espresso on the stovetop. Lacafetiere and Moka are examples of good quality brands to choose from.

Ordinary bleached paper filters can distort the taste of your coffee by leaching chemicals into it. This will damage the taste appeal of the coffee. A gold mesh filter allows for the purest brew. If you are unable to use a gold mesh filter, try unbleached paper filters. This will also offer the cleanest, best coffee taste.

Coffee connoisseurs know better than most how to brew the perfect cup of coffee. They filter or use distilled water which appears to be the most important factor for great coffee. Tap water is too soft for perfect brewing and may contain minerals which leave deposits in your coffee maker. These mineral deposits are not only difficult to remove, but they can leave unpleasant flavors in your coffee.

Preheat your mug; it sounds simple, but pouring your coffee into an already warm mug will make an enormous difference. Your coffee will stay hotter longer, but more importantly it will have the perfect flavor, as the taste usually intensifies even after it's been poured. Pour boiling water (hot tap water will work too, but it won't heat your mug as much) into your mug and swish it around your mug before pouring your favorite beverage. Then relax and enjoy your coffee time!

Coffee time means you are anticipating the rich-tasting, hot brew. When you want your coffee time to be just right, take a few steps and make sure that it tastes as good as it can.
