- 1). Disconnect the Super II pump from the electrical outlet, and ensure no power reaches the pump. Separate the Super II from the pool hard plumbing by unscrewing the two unions on the plumbing by the pump. Pull the entire pump system away from the plumbing.
- 2). Locate the long bolts connecting the Super II's pump housing to the motor, and unfasten them with a wrench of socket wrench. Pull the bolts out of the housing holes and pull the motor away from the wet end of the Super Pump II.
- 3). Push a slotted screwdriver blade into the joint of the motor's back casing, and pop the casing off. Move to the other end of the motor, and grab and slide the plastic diffuser off the Super II's shaft. Reach into the back portion of the motor with a wrench, and lock the wrench into place on the shaft. Rotate the impeller on the other side of the motor shaft counterclockwise until it comes free of the shaft. Pop the seal assembly out of the impeller with a screwdriver.
- 4). Examine the seal assembly for damage. Replace the assembly if it shows wear or has cracks. Examine the impeller for worn edges or warping, and replace it if any exists. Place the seal assembly into the impeller, applying force until the seal locks into place.
- 5). Place the impeller and seal assembly onto the Super II's shaft ,and twist them until they rest tightly on the shaft. Place a new diffuser onto the shaft to protect the seal assembly and impeller. Connect the Super II's motor to the wet end with the housing bolts and a socket wrench. Reattach the Super II system to the pool plumbing with the plumbing unions.
