- 1). Cut 10 of the 8-foot boards in half, giving you 20 48-inch boards.
- 2). Cut three boards 40 inches long. You will have some wood left over.
- 3). Balance the three 40-inch boards on their 1-inch sides.
- 4). Lay a 48-inch board across the three 40-inch boards. A 40-inch board is below each end of the 48-inch board and one in the middle. Nail the 48-inch board in place. Place a second board at the bottom and nail it in place. Spread out eight more boards between the top and bottom.
- 5). Turn the skid over and spread out the last 10 boards on the other side. Nail the boards to the 40-inch supports.
