A relationship is established between home buyers and their realtor--time was spent visiting homes and working together to get the best price. Once buyer close on the purchase of their new home, it's time to celebrate. Gifts a realtor can choose from range from the practical to the entertaining. - Now that your clients have purchased a home, they will want to entertain. Purchase a gift basket that will provide the supplies for a housewarming barbecue. Include a variety of spice rubs and sauces, along with some barbecue tools such as tongs, spatulas and skewers. You could even purchase a few nice steaks from a mail order company that sends aged steaks through the mail.
- Okay, now that they own a house, it's time for the buyers to decorate. Providing a bouquet of flowers in a vase will help get them started with decorating the house. Choose a color that complements the kitchen area or entrance to the house, as these are two locations where guests might frequently visit when coming to greet the new homeowners.
- Purchase a gift that your clients can share when their guests visit the new home. If you know of a favorite type of beer or wine the homeowners enjoy, purchase a few bottles or six-packs to help them celebrate. Another option would be a bottle of champagne for them to enjoy.
- Provide a keepsake item for the buyers to help remember the purchase of the house. This could be a plaque or even a crystal square that is engraved. Items to engrave into the plaque or crystal could include the address of the house, the date of the closing of the sale, and the name of the buyers. This could either be displayed in the home as a conversation piece, or stored away as a private memory for the buyers.
- Buying a home takes a lot of time and money, but those investments aren't over after the purchase. Moving and unpacking will take quite a bit of time, and there could be unexpected costs associated with purchasing items for the home. Help offset these costs by purchasing a gift card for a home improvement store in the area. Another option would be a gift certificate to a local restaurant to allow the owners to enjoy a night out after spending the day moving and unpacking.
