- 1). Open your Accord's trunk. Locate the left tail light. On some Accords, the jack used for changing the tires blocks access to the left brake light. Open the door on the compartment that holds the jack, remove the jack and then remove the bolt holding the compartment in place using a socket wrench. Remove the compartment.
- 2). Locate the edge of your luggage carpet and lining toward the bumper. Pull up on the carpet and fold it back to access the tail light assembly.
- 3). Locate the retaining nuts on the backside of the trim panel that block access to the tail light. Remove these nuts with a socket wrench.
- 4). Remove the trim panel and set it aside.
- 5). Push on the release tab on the electrical connector and pull the connector off the harness to disconnect the tail light.
- 6). Rotate the brake light bulb counterclockwise and pull it out of the back of the tail light assembly.
- 7). Insert the new tail light bulb and rotate the bulb clockwise to secure it to the housing.
- 8). Plug the power connector for the tail lights back into the connector on the new brake light bulb.
- 9). Replace the trim panel and secure it with the factory retaining nuts using a socket wrench.

Fold the carpet back down and close the trunk.
