- 1). Download and install the latest version of iTunes if you do not already have it on your computer. Alternatively you can update your iTunes by launching it and clicking the "iTunes" button if you are using a Mac, or clicking "Help" if you are using Windows. Click "Check for updates" to install the latest iTunes updates.
- 2). Connect your iPod to the computer using the USB cable that came with your device when you finish updating iTunes. iTunes automatically recognizes your iPod and displays it in the left panel under "Devices." If iTunes does not recognize the iPod, close iTunes and relaunch it. You should now see your iPod under "Devices."
- 3). Click the "File" menu located on the top of the iTunes interface, and click "Add to Library." Locate the songs you want to upload to your iPod from the folder that you saved them in and click "Open" to import them to the iTunes library. Click the "Library" tab in the left panel. You should see the songs uploaded to the library in the right panel.
- 4). Click the plus symbol (+) in the lower left panel to create a new playlist, and then name the playlist whatever you want. You should see the newly created playlist in the left panel. Click the "Library" tab again and drag your songs into the playlist that you created.
- 5). Click your iPod under "Devices" and click the "Music" tab. Click the "Sync Music" check-box, and click the "Selected playlists, artists, and genres" check-box. Select the playlist containing the music you want to upload to your iPod and click "Sync." The songs are uploaded to your iPod. When the process completes, right-click your iPod and click "Eject."

- 3). Click your iPod under "Devices" and click the "Summary" tab. Click the "Manually manage music and videos" check-box and click "Apply." Click the "Library" tab and drag songs from the right pane to your iPod. iTunes will automatically sync as much music as possible to your iPod. When the process completes, right-click your iPod and click "Eject."
- 4). Alternatively, sync music using the Auto fill feature. To do so, click the drop-down arrow next to your iPod under "Devices," and then click "Music." Select "Music" in the "Autofill from" box and click "Autofill."
