During research on sex offenders, I came a cross a video from 19 action news.
It was about an 86 year old sex offender.
Yes, he is 86 years old, an elderly person, and a senior citizen and yet he still has it in him to kidnap a 9 year old child for indecent purposes.
He is an old man with new charges.
Awakening to the fact that some old people are actually capable of doing that despite some possible ailments they may be feeling, I turned to look for more information and came to read an electronic book.
In this book it said the sex offenses are often committed by younger males.
However a small percentage is committed by those 60 years or older.
One word came to my mind.
I believe the term is "Pedophile".
In this group of offenders, there was absence of violence and rape.
Their offenses mostly revolved around a series of fondling and touching an acquaintance to exposing their genitals to a minor.
Take not only 23% had previous convictions for sex offenses.
That meant there may have been underlying sexual disturbance for a long duration.
Also these geriatric offenders tend to have mental disturbance, isolation and loneliness and organic brain pathology.
That is a lot of mental problems, which developed especially on those who did not have previous offenses.
Come to think of it, it's not something that I haven't heard before.
I remember that I came across a story on a magazine that there are actually some Asian countries that "pimp" children to elderly men and that those men were actually their best customers.
So the next time you decide to trust the sweet old man or lady, keep in mind the story of the 86 year old man.
By the way, the oldest woman sex offender I came across in my searches through the Internet was 74.
