- 1). Park the Jeep on a clean, flat surface. Apply the parking brake. Slide a floor jack under the front axle and lift the front of the vehicle. Place jack stands along the frame rails to support the weight of the vehicle. Lower the jack until the pressure is released from the axle and the suspension.
- 2). Locate the shackle on each leaf spring. The shackle is the part of the suspension that connects to the leaf spring and vehicle's frame. Remove the bolts that secure the shackle to the leaf springs and frame using a wrench. Remove the shackles from the Jeep.
- 3). Place the lift shackles into position. Align the holes and install the bolts through the shackles and into the leaf springs and frame rail. Install the lock washer on the opposite side and thread the retaining nut onto the bolts. Tighten the bolts to 30-35 ft-lbs using a torque wrench.
- 4). Repeat these steps to install the remaining shackles.
- 5). Lift the front of the vehicle with the floor jacks high enough to remove the jack stands. Lower the vehicle to the ground. Repeat these steps to replace the rear shackles to complete the lift kit.
