Before I read Joseph Prince's book destined to reign, I was bound up in a legalistic Christian world view.
Though I might not have admitted it to you I didn't think Jesus death on the cross was enough to save a persons sin and believed that 50% of born again Christians ended up in hell when they died.
There were 7 parables of Jesus that I thought taught that Christians can go to hell, and I was full of judgment for myself and every other person I met.
Then I read Joseph's book.
For close to 17 years I had been reading the Old Testament prophets and reading the New Testament through an Old Covenant angry God mentality.
I thought that if you did not obey all of Jesus commands and follow to the tea exactly what He taught you would go to hell.
I was so confident that I was right about what I thought and taught that I was not even confident that I was going to escape hell myself.
Joseph in his book said that you cannot mix the Law with Grace.
He said that the law brings condemnation and that the letter of the law kills and it cannot in any way be added to the finished work of Jesus.
He not only said this but backed it up with what seemed to be an unending supply of scriptures, and thorough explanations of the scriptures.
And at the end of it, I had to put down the book and admit that I had been converted to the belief that I am saved by the grace of Jesus and nothing else.
For years I had been trying to earn my salvation by works.
They were good works, doing prophecy, teaching my understanding of the Bible, and making video teachings on you tube.
But they were mostly works of self righteousness and what the Bible calls filthy rags.
Joseph goes on to say that even the filthy rags in the OT is the cloth a woman uses when she has her monthly periods.
Joseph taught that we do not need any more teaching on the Law or sin in order to be set free of sin and that teaching on sin actually creates a sin consciousness that stops us from breaking free.
He teaches that only when we can confess to ourselves that we are the righteousness of God through Christ that we can really break free of the habitual sins.
I have to confess that this seemed weird for me to hear, but before I had heard him say it in destined to reign I had already heard John Bevere and Joyce Meyer say it.
I feel so free.
It makes me very happy to know that my sins are forgiven and God sees me as righteous.
I would recommend Joseph's book Destined the Reign to everyone.
