- 1). Loosen the two step-up piston cover screws on the top of the carburetor as illustrated (see References) with a screwdriver. Slide the step-up piston covers out of the way and lift the two metering rods and springs off the carburetor.
- 2). Detach the choke cam connector rod from the side of the carburetor by removing the retaining clip with a pair of needle nose pliers and sliding the connector rod away from the carburetor. Remove the pump connector rod from the pump arm just below the cam rod with needle nose pliers.
- 3). Unfasten the clip on the choke connector rod with a pair of needle nose pliers on the opposite side of the carburetor from the choke cam connector rod. Unfasten the eight airhorn attaching screws with a screwdriver that hold the top cover onto the carburetor.
- 4). Lift the airhorn cover off the top of the carburetor and remove the four carburetor metering jets from underneath the airhorn cover with a standard screwdriver.
