- 1). Set the mood for the shower with a themed invitation. Many stationery companies sell slumber party-themed invitations that can be personalized with a home computer. Some email invitation services even have slumber party-themed invitations that can be sent for free via email. Don’t forget to encourage guests to come dressed in their favorite pajamas and slippers.
- 2). Clear a large space on the floor and arrange colorful sleeping bags and pillows in a circle. Place low tables, like coffee tables, near the sleeping bags for food and drinks. Decorate the room with streamers and balloons in the wedding colors. Inexpensive sheets of tulle sold by the yard at fabric stores can be draped around serving bowls or on the gift table. Bring back fond memories for guests by playing movies from the bride’s teenage years on TVs without sound.
- 3). Serve finger foods that remind guests of childhood parties in colorful plastic bowls or in pretty hat boxes lined with tissue paper. Flavored popcorn, pretzels with chocolate and fruit dip, and pizza with gourmet toppings add class to childhood treats. For dessert, set up an ice cream sundae bar where guests can create their own sundaes with lavish toppings. If all guests are adults, serve daiquiris, flavored martinis or wine.
- 4). Play traditional bridal shower games, which work well at a slumber party-themed bridal shower. A trivia game with questions about the bride and her groom-to-be can get all of the guests involved. If budget allows, hire an esthetician or salon to come to the party to perform nail services or mini massages.
- 5). Make small gift bags for each guest with treats that will remind them of slumber party fun. Bright nail polish, scented lotions and lip gloss in a small gift bag are easy to hand to guests as they leave.
