Today is no ordinary day! How could it be when it's the fifth day of September again.
It's a day that remarkably stands out from the rest.
And it calls for celebration, that kind of day you call out to those people to wish them, even show them your respect and your gratitude.
Those special people whose jobs demand the most of them, yet never minding it willingly share their knowledge.
How could one who stands tall in the society pride in his achievements without having to look back on all those who help him get there? Or how could any learned person forget the ones who trained him over the years? How could anyone at all forget their teachers! For all the obvious reasons, they would always top the list when it comes to tracing back your educational venture.
It would be specially them when you want to look back on the uncountable lessons you have gained as a student.
Teachers have moulded all the greatest people that have come and gone.
Even those who are still there.
They have taught all the scholars available.
Teachers are the unforgettable mentors who fondly reside in the hearts of the students.
Even long after they are done with studies and go on to become somebody in the society, teachers remain a special asset because under their capable guidance, they move forward in life to reach their goals.
Most years of our lives are spent on learning.
Apart from experiences that prepare us to face situations in life, all the other forms of lessons are gathered from our teachers- It could be our school teachers, even our parents and elders who teach us in some kind of way.
They not only widen our knowledge about the world- arts, science, technology, music, religion etc but they also instill in us a lot of other virtues that are means of shaping our personalities.
We imbibe much goodness from them.
And despite all the inconveniences that students create, their only zeal is to better the society through their faithful contribution.
Theirs isn't an easy job.
Handling a few people under your leadership itself is not an easy ride.
Imagine having some 50 or even more students under your responsibility.
That too one cannot expect all of them to behave well.
Forget about 100%, one is likely to find a few students who cooperate.
But despite it all, the beauty of teaching is they do not give up on them.
Teachers hold the most respectable job whether the world wants to crown them the title or not.
Respectable because theirs is a lot of hardwork, sacrifice, intelligence, personality, everything put together.
There is no other profession I can think of, that requires more patience than teaching does.
And when one has been doing so all his life, you don't have to think twice, the person probably has the most of it.
And that's the most beautiful part of being a Teacher.
Among other things, sharing is one of the nicest thing they do.
Teachers share their knowledge, educate students and along with the teaching package, they also attach strings of life's beauties.
All for the students' gain.
Observing a day for our dear teachers probably does not say it all.
It probably is not enough when there is so much more they have given us.
But they indeed deserve nothing less.
It's an occasion to tell them that it's because of them we are where we stand today.
And even if the distance is too long to travel to do the saying, maybe we could wish them still.
In a moment of silence, whisper a prayer and blow wishes for them.
That's the least we can do for the amount of education they have imparted on us.
And for those students who are just within reach of their teacher, there's no better way of showing them your gratitude by being your best in class and in between taking time off to tell them what a wonderful job they do.
For the credit of our growing society belongs to them.
It's the teachers who mould it.
Its them who, in a humble manner changes our society for the best.
