If you know a guy who has recently gone through the heartbreaking tragedy of divorce, get him a gift to raise his spirits. Once the dust has settled, encourage your friend, brother, dad, or whoever it is, to laugh and have fun, meet new people, and have some exciting experiences. Be a good friend to him, make sure he knows that life does go on, and that being a single man isn't such a bad thing after all. - Give him something to laugh about: a funny movie.cd dvd multicolores image by Danielle Bonardelle from Fotolia.com
Everyone enjoys a good laugh, especially someone who may have just gone through a difficult situation, like divorce. A good gift for a recently divorced man is a collection of funny movies. Consider movies that have a "masculine" theme, such as "Old School," "Swingers" or the classic "Animal House." Find movies that celebrate being single, and ones that make fun of certain life situations. - Encourage moving on with advice books.Books image by JenJen from Fotolia.com
A divorced man need help getting back onto the dating scene. Find some books to help, ones that offer tips for dating, flirting or understanding the opposite sex. If dating is the last thing he wants to think about, give him books that encourage moving on or books that portray his new status in a positive light. If the divorcee is a dad, find a book that suggests things to do with his kids. This will allow him to focus on being as a good single dad. - Take a trip away from it all and create new memories.rome image by jedphoto from Fotolia.com
Get out of town and far away from the situation. You can both have fun, and he can get his mind off of the heartbreak at home. Go somewhere that doesn't spark memories of his honeymoon or vacations with his wife. Go to a city he has never been to before. Cities such as Rome and Munich offer a lot to see and do, learn and experience. Help him create new memories so he won't dwell as much on the old ones. Maybe take a group tour somewhere, so he can mingle with other people. Some tours are designed specifically for singles, too, which could be fun.
