- 1). Saturate the burn spot with water. This washes remaining urine away and rinses the urine salts out of the soil and root system of the grass.
- 2). Remove all of the dead grass from the damaged area.
- 3). Use a small garden spade or handheld shovel to dig into and loosen the soil for the new grass.
- 4). Mix a combination of one part fresh grass seed, one part potting soil and one part original soil from the burn spot.
- 5). Put the mixture onto the prepared spot and pack it down firmly.
- 6). Water the spot thoroughly, making sure to keep the spot moist until the grass begins to sprout.
