- 1). Get handbooks and manuals on restoring Dodge Ram Charger trucks. Join a Dodge enthusiast group in your neighborhood for advice and help. The more you know about this project, the easier it will be to successfully restore a Dodge Ram Charger.
- 2). Create a clean work environment to accommodate your Dodge Ram Charger after it has been disassembled. Arrange for extra space for lighting, equipment and containers. Keep your work area organized to prevent losing parts. Fasten a large tarp to the floor and set up labeled containers for storing parts.
- 3). Raise your Dodge Ram Charger with a car jack, then stabilize the truck with jack stands. Take off the bumpers, tailgate, hood, front grill and doors. Remove the windshield, mirrors and windows. Detach the headlights and taillights, then the wheels, wheel assemblies and axles. Use grease and a rubber mallet to assist with removing parts having excessive rust and erosion.
