- The 1951 Chevrolet sedan had a slightly wider rear track than the front, regardless of style. The rear track measured 58.75 inches (1,492 mm), and the front measured 57 inches (1,448 mm).
- The dimensions had remained the same since 1949. In 1948, the tracking measured 60 inches in back and 57.6 in front on a 116-inch wheelbase and a 70.8-inch-wide car. The 1951 Chevrolet sedans were 73.9 inches wide on a 115-inch wheelbase.
- Chevrolet began the move to larger cars in 1953. The new sedans would have a width of 74.75 inches and tracking of 58.75 in rear and 56.69 in front, with a 115-inch wheelbase.
