Two great ways to gain these back-links is thru article marketing or reciprocal linking.

Submitting articles to high ranking article directories will help boost your ranking once your article is published.
Contacting sites that have similar content to yours or reciprocal linking entails exchanging links and this is most effective once again higher ranking sites.
