- 1). Locate two studs in the area of the room where you want to hang the closet rack. Mark the studs.
- 2). Attach both of the shelf supports to the shelf, securing them with screws.
- 3). Place the closet brackets and shelf. Hold the shelf and supports up to the area where you want to hang the closet rack. Place the level on top of the shelf. Hold the shelf up to the wall and level it. Draw a line along the back of the shelf as a placement marker. Mark the holes for the shelf brackets.
- 4). Drill holes at the marks to align with the holes in the shelf brackets.
- 5). Put the shelf back up on the wall, lining it up with your level mark. Insert screws into the holes for the shelf brackets.
- 6). Place the closet pole into the bracket holders.
