- 1). Catch the fish in your plastic pond using a net and place them in a bucket filled with water.
- 2). Place a submersible pump into the pond and pump out the water.
- 3). Remove pond plants and place them on the side of the pond until you finish cleaning the pond.
- 4). Clean the pond filter using a hose.
Spray water from the hose over the filter to clean off moss and other debris. Use the hose to pressure-clean rocks from the pond, removing any moss. - 5). Clean out mud from the bottom of the pond using a bucket or pond vacuum.
Scrape all dirt and remaining debris off the bottom of the pond using a scraper or a brush. - 6). Fill up the pond with regular tap water and mix a de-chlorinator to it to neutralize the chlorine, which is harmful to fish.
Replace the fish, plants and the filter back into the pond and turn the system on.
