- 1). Open the dryer door. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the door to the hinges.
- 2). Turn the door upside down. If it has a door backing, remove the screws holding the backing in place.
- 3). Locate the tip of the pin sticking out at the bottom of the handle assembly. Grasp the pin with a pliers and pull it out. Pull the old handle off of the dryer.
- 4). Put the new handle together. The latch goes inside the square opening. Make sure the hook of the latch is facing out. Rest the spring over the latch. The arms of the spring should be pointing out.
- 5). Insert the new handle into the door of the dryer. Line up all the holes in the handle, latch and spring. Push the new pin through each of these holes to hold the handle in place.
- 6). Put the door backing back onto the back of the dryer door and secure it with screws. Line up the holes on the side of the door with the holes in the hinges and secure the door with screws.
