- 1). Wipe the front face of the fender trimming with a clean rag.
- 2). Cover the fender with masking tape. Mark the location of the cut on the masking tape with a permanent marker by following the edge of the fender well to keep the stock look of the vehicle after the cut.
- 3). Attach a .040 cut off wheel to an angle grinder.
- 4). Start the angle grinder. Slowly lower the grinder onto the line marked on the masking tape. Move the grinder slowly along the marked line to score a line. Push and pull the grinder along the line to cut the fender to the new size.
- 5). Tilt the grinder on a 30 degree angle to the fender. Drag the spinning cut off wheel along the cut to remove the sharp burr left inside the fender while cutting.
- 6). Pull the masking tape from the fender after the cut has cooled for 30 to 45 minutes.
