- 1). Tilt the steering column to its lowest position. Unscrew the hex nut and washer head screw from the column using a 1/4-inch ratchet and socket and a phillips-head screwdriver. Remove the dimmer assembly from the ignition switch rod.
- 2). Remove the actuator rod from the ignition switch using your hands. Unplug the ignition switch harness. Pull the switch out of the column.
- 3). Connect the replacement ignition switch to the actuator rod. Twist the replacement ignition switch slider to the far left position, then move it to one spot right of the "Off-Lock" position. Reconnect the dimmer switch assembly.
- 4). Reattach the washer head screw and hex nut using the ratchet and screwdriver. Tilt up the steering column and test for proper operation.
