Location

• The BMW 740i's power steering reservoir is located in the engine compartment. It mounted at the front of the compartment on the left side of the engine.
  
  

Access

• The power steering reservoir is easily accessible. You can access it on the 740i by simply opening the hood; It should be readily visible. It is topped with a removable filler cap.
  
  

Servicing

• Drivers should check power steering fluid regularly. The power steering reservoir dipstick is part of the filler cap. Fill the reservoir to its fill line, start the vehicle, then check the fluid level again. Fluid levels may rise above the fill lines when the engine is off. This is why drivers must check levels with the engine running.
