A smoke detector is an essential gadget in every home as it alerts you of a fire or a potential fire by sensing unhealthy smoke.
A heat sensor also acts in the same line by raising an alarm when the temperature of a room goes beyond the specified limit.
As both devices are interrelated, most of the manufacturers are creating smoke detector with heat sensors.
However, for even the experienced person, the question arises as how to install a smoke detector with heat sensor in a home.
To find the answer, you will have to search your house with a keen eye.
Check what all gadgets are installed.
Mostly, you will be focusing where the other heat sensors are or the smoke detectors are located in the house.
Where to start You need to take a careful look at the devices already installed in your home.
You may find several heat detectors in the home and also you can see different smoke detectors at different places in the house.
If you had it installed through an expert technician, you will notice that most of these gadgets are tied together.
This means that the heat detector is placed just next to the smoke detector.
Depending upon the positions of the already installed devices, you will have to decide where to place the new one that you purchased.

Most of these gadgets have a pin so that you can just hang it to the wall.
If you are installing it in the kitchen, never install the device near the stove as it will easily catch the heat and give out alarms.

The other main place for installation is the main hall where you have the fireplace with chimney.
Here also you need to take care that you do not install a smoke detector with heat sensor near the chimney or the fireplace.
While the fireplace is already hot, the chimney also gets heated due to constant passing of the hot smoke through it.
Keep a distance of at least 6 inches from the chimney if are installing the device there.
