Remove the rubber sheaths from the ends of the clamps. - 2). Clip the clamps onto the edge of your workbench and add a drop of oil about half an inch from the edge of the side facing up.
- 3). Using a hammer and a nailset, pound a dimple into the clamp where you put the drop of oil. Drill a hole that corresponds to the size of your drywall screws through that dimple.
- 4). Repeat Steps 2 and 3 on the other side of the spring clamp.
- 5). Place the block of scrap wood between the clamp's jaws. Screw the drywall screws through the hole, so the points jut into the center about a half-inch on each side.
