- 1). Check your iPod warranty.
- 2). Go to your local Apple retail store. If your iPod is within the one-year warranty, the Apple retail store will replace the battery for free. If your iPod is not within the one-year warranty, the Apple retail store may be able to fix or replace your battery for a small service fee depending on the nature of the problem.
- 3). Contact the Online Service Assistant for a replacement battery if the Apple retail store is unable to fix the problem. The Online Service Assistant will ask for your serial number and then proceed to tell you your service options.
