How to Replace Front Brake Pads on a Audi Q7

    • 1). Open the Audi's hood and open the master cylinder, or brake fluid cap. The master cylinder and brake fluid reservoir are located on the right hand side of the engine, in the back near the windshield.

    • 2). Engage the emergency brake.

    • 3). Loosen the lug nuts on the Audi's front wheels.

    • 4). Jack up the vehicle, then place jack stands under its front frame and lower the Audi onto the stands for support.

    • 6). Locate the brake caliper retaining bolts on the inside of your driver's side front wheel. There will be three of retaining bolts. Remove them with the socket set. Lift the break caliper up and off the brake rotor

    • 7). Clip and bend a coat hanger, then wrap it around the brake caliper. Suspend the caliper by the coat hanger to a place on the frame so as not to place pressure on the brake lines.

    • 8). Use a C-clamp to push the caliper piston back into the caliper assembly.

    • 9). Slide the old brake pads out and put the new ones in. Insert any holding pins that may be on the assembly.

    • 10

Remove the coat hanger from the caliper and slide the caliper back in place resting over the brake rotor.

Replace the caliper retaining bolts and tighten them firmly.
