As such the dog collar that you invest in should be such that it can easily expand and fit comfortably later on in your dog's neck.

The requirement of this space varies depending on the type of the breed.
For instance, if you have a small sized dog then there should be a minimum space of about one finger's width between the dogs' neck and the glow in the dog collar.
Whereas, if you have a medium-sized dog, then the gap between your dog's neck and the glow should be equal to two-finger's width.
On the other hand, in case of large dogs this gap should have a width of at least three-finger.
The collar should be strong and spacious The glowing collar that you wish to buy should be strong enough to stand up to rugged wear and washing.
It should be also large enough to fit in the dog's identification tags.
Strong locking system Glowing collars generally come in either snap-together or buckled locking system.
Whichever, variety you go for just remember that the locking system should be strong locking system so that they may not open up easily and end up getting lost.
