Hi! This is Elise McMahon with Expert Village and we¡¯re talking in this video about how to travel with your dog. If you would like to find out more about my services you can visit my website canineheadstart.com. So lastly here in this topic we¡¯re going to talking about interaction with other dogs while you¡¯re traveling with your dog. If your dog is very dog friendly then take him to places like dog parks is a great idea to get him exercise as we have talked about already. You¡¯re not always sure how friendly other dogs are going to be to your dog. It¡¯s a good idea when traveling with your dog, you want to keep them on a leash if you¡¯re at rest stops on the highway. Keep your dog on a leash. Don¡¯t let them go up to strange dogs especially if those strange dogs are unaccompanied by people, you don¡¯t know if it¡¯s a stray dog, if it¡¯s a healthy dog, if it¡¯s a dog they might pass some diseases on to your dog. So you want to be careful about dog-dog interactions while you¡¯re traveling unless you happen to know the dog that you¡¯re going to be interacting with. If you¡¯re going to be traveling with more than one dog then do be aware of the dogs traveling in groups can feel themselves stronger more powerful and might challenge and try to dominate individual dogs that they might come across so just know your dogs well, have them be fairly well socialized before taking them out in public and be cautious when approaching other dogs if you¡¯re not familiar with them, just to keep your dogs safe and sound during your trip.
