Hero Achiever is a good looking bike blessed with decent power and performance in the 150 cc category. It was produced by Hero Motocorp in the year 2006. Though its production was stopped the same year following some minor issues, it again came out as a true achiever in 2007 with some model improvements.
The Hero Achiever is a 2040 mm long, 760 mm wide and 1120 mm tall bike and has a ground clearance of 160 mm. It is not a very heavy bike at a kerb weight of 138 kilograms. The front of the Achiever is ornamented with multi reflector halogen headlight, a position lamp, front turn indicators, uniquely designed muffler with heat shield and a well sculpted fuel tank with a capacity of 12 litres of fuel. It also has sporty air-scoops in the front below the fuel tank. The dual tone painted chain case, 5 spoke black cast wheels and the bright tail lamp are noteworthy features on the sides and rear.
Providing power to the Achiever is an air-cooled, four stroke and twin valve, single cylinder equipped motor with a displacement of 149.1 cc. This smooth and silent engine produces 13.4 bhp of maximum power at 8000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of peak torque at 5000 rpm. It is mated to a five speed manual gearbox which is set in the one down and four up pattern. The clutch is multiplate wet type and very user friendly.
It has a paper air filter element for inhalation and uses an integrated two-way air jacket for better heat dispersion from its cylinder heads. The top speed here is 111 kilometres per litre and it reaches the 0 to 60 kilometres per hour mark in just 6.25 seconds.
The chassis of the Achiever is tubular and diamond type. It has telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and rectangular swing arm with adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. This ensures that it gives a fairly smooth ride on uneven roads as well. Stopping power is provided to the 18 inches puncture resistant alloy wheels by disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. Hero Achiever delivers a decent mileage of 51.3 kilometres per litre in city conditions and on the highways it ticks on 55.3 kilometres per litre.
It comes with two variants, kick-start and self-start. This new generation bike from the Honda comes with diverse and exciting body colours like Force Silver Metallic, Magnetic Blue, Candy Blazing Red and Palace Maroon. Hero has priced the Achiever at Rs 61000 approximately. This price will be influenced by many factors like the additional features chosen and the place and time of purchase.
